OlecraNail™ Features
Minimally invasive, intramedullary design
OlecraNail™ may be inserted using a minimally invasive technique involving a series of cosmetically appealing small incisions. The intramedullary design of OlecraNail™ allows for the implant to be completely embedded within the bone. As a result, patients experience no soft tissue irritation and there is no need for hardware removal, commonly seen with other traditional implants.
Superior multiplanar fixation
OlecraNail™ assures early elbow motion as it offers superior bending and tensile strength with its stainless steel design. Four low-profile screws capture the proximal fragment of the olecranon in a radial arrangement which insures fixation in all planes. The unique arrangement of screws capture fragments and reduces the risk of hardware pullout even in soft, osteopenic bone.
Similarly, three screws simultaneously grab and buttress the coranoid to resist the deforming forces across the fracture.
Adjustable compression
OlecraNail™ offers a unique mechanism to compress the fracture site as much or as little as the surgeon desires.
Easy removal
If the need arises to remove OlecraNail™ for any reason, the removal knob at the end of the nail allows for easy extraction.
